Now that lockdown is starting to ease, we have at last been able to continue the programme of improving security on the allotments! As of last Wednesday, we now have shiny new higher gates and railings at the Haslemere entrance to the site, making it much more difficult for intruders to try to gain access that way.

At the same time, a broken section of fence near the Chalfont Way side of the site was replaced with new close boarding fencing, and an illegal gate onto the site removed.

Big thanks to the assistance of the homeowners neighbouring the Haslemere entrance, who generously allowed the contractors access to power for the whole process of installing the gates and railings.

The next phase is to put up similar gates and railings at the Midhurst Road entrance, currently awaiting final approval.
