Recently, the Ealing Cardio Group (ECG) took on part of communal allotment plot 1B. ECG’s aim is to help prevent heart disease and those who suffer from it through exercise. ECG’s Secretary Ian Renwick said:
“We are a group of 50-plus people, most of whom have heart procedures, following events such as heart attacks.
ECG was formed five years ago by four members, after the previous classes were terminated by the former Cardiac Rehab Service Provider in Ealing. We are almost entirely self-funded, with subscriptions covering the cost of our venue hire and trainers.
The main focus has been on fitness classes, run by expert trainers. Two years ago, we added a yoga class, tailored to our needs – now we run four exercise classes plus yoga each week.
And now – the Allotment!”

Thank you, Haslemere, for the opportunity to broaden our activities and the generosity and warmth shown to us by HAA members.”
