Our recent plant swap/sale organised by Vinka Reeves raised the grand sum of £93.33 – a great effort. It was decided to use this money to benefit a local charity, and Hanwell Homeless Concern was chosen.

Hanwell Homeless Concern provides a weekly substantial free lunch and a place to socialise for the local homeless and others in need. Run by volunteers, a two-course lunch is prepared for between 30 and 60 diners at three local venues: St Thomas’ Church Hall, Boston Road, Our Lady & St Joseph’s Church Hall, Uxbridge Road, and Hanwell Methodists’ Church Hall, Church Road. The charity also supplies clothes and other practical items. The photo shows Vinka handing over a cheque for £100 to Sylvia Clayton (Treasurer) and Rod Prangnell (Chair) of Hanwell Homeless Concern at St Thomas’ this week.

Hanwell Homeless Concern is funded entirely through donations such as this and fund-raising events. We hope to be able to continue to support their great work.
